The IDS (Information Systems, Decision Sciences and Statistics) department at ESSEC Business School invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Statistics or Econometrics in its Paris campus.

ESSEC is a leading European business school, a French “Grande Ecole”, with two campuses, one in the Paris metropolitan area and another in Singapore. It offers mostly graduate level training in business administration (MSc, MBA, EMBA, Specialized Masters, PhD). The specificity and long tradition of ESSEC is to have developed quantitative approaches to research in its fields (we have master programs in financial techniques, actuarial science, quantitative marketing…). Courses are taught mainly in English. The department comprises five faculty members in Statistics and Econometrics with interests in economics, finance, marketing and risk management. It hosts a specific research center dedicated to Risk, CREAR, transversal to other departments.

To be considered, candidates should hold a Ph.D. (doctorate) in Statistics or in Econometrics, and show evidence of excellence both in research and in teaching. The position is open to all fields; however, candidates whose research relates to the field of quantitative risk management and/or whose work could find some applications related to “big data” will be particularly appreciated.

Support to research is key to ESSEC policy and faculty members enjoy a very favorable environment. Salaries are competitive at European levels. Rank of appointment and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates will have the opportunity to teach statistics and econometrics at all levels.

Candidates should send their applications (including a cover letter, a detailed curriculum vitae, a list of publications on which the candidate emphasizes the four most representative of her/his research, three names of individuals willing to write a recommendation letter) to:

Ms Frédérique JEAN-LOUIS, Administrative Assistant
