Past Event: Course on Text as Data in Economics

A course on “text as data” with Leif Anders Thorsrud (Norges Bank and BI Norwegian
Business School) as main speaker attracted more than 35 PhD students and early stage
researchers to ZEW in Mannheim, where this course jointly organized by ZEW and University
of Giessen and supported by ERS-IASC took place from July, 15th to 18th, 2019. The
participants gained knowledge about how to use textual data to answer economically relevant
questions. During a tutorial taking place the last day of the course, the participants started their
own analysis with textual data.
