One of the positions concerns general topics in Statistics, the second is for a candidate specialized in Survey Sampling Methods.

The contracts are for up to six years, but the positions could become permanent in due course.

ENSAI, the French National School for Statistics and Information Analysis (Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Analyse de l’Information: www.ensai.fr) is a French Grande Ecole belonging to the Genes Consortium, a public institution of higher education and research (www.groupe-genes.fr). Historically associated with INSEE (French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies), ENSAI offers several Master-level statistical specializations including Biostatistics, Quantitative Marketing, Risk Management, Statistical Modelling, and Survey Sampling. For research, ENSAI is part of the Center for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST, www.crest.fr).

A successful applicant will be expected to undertake high-level research in theoretical or applied Statistics and to teach and supervise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She/he will also be expected to undertake a certain amount of regular departmental responsibilities (eg. academic advising, curriculum development). Applicants should have a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics or related field, several years of post-doctoral experience, and high-level knowledge in Statistical Modelling.

Fluency in French is not required but is a plus.

Salaries will depend on the applicants’ experience and research credentials.

The deadline for applications is February 26, 2014. The contracts start in September 2014.
