Post: full time for 1 year, from January 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter

We invite applications for a research assistant position, funded by the US Department of Agriculture, to work with Dr Silvia Liverani at Queen
Mary University of London, Professor Ann Stapleton at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and Dr Weijia Xu at the University of Texas at
Austin, on an exciting collaborative project aimed at improving crop production. The research will involve developing a data analysis tool to
help predict how specific plant varieties will react in environmental conditions such as extreme temperatures, drought, strong winds and a range of soil types.

The successful applicant will work on a software application that can accommodate the complex calculations necessary to determine which
combinations of genetic traits have the greatest influence over a plant’s ability to survive in different environments.

Informal enquiries may be made to Dr Silvia Liverani at s.liverani@qmul.ac.uk
